Russell Lyle Joy

Russell Lyle Joy of Baird passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at the age of 54.
Russell was born February 16, 1972 in Abilene to Eric N. Joy and Wilda Williams Vincent. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University and began coaching at Hays Consolidated in Buda, Texas. He went on to coach and teach at various schools in Texas. He later received his Master’s Degree and served as Principal.
He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eric N. Joy and grandparents M. H. and Louise  Joy and Terrel and Dee Williams.
Survivors include his mother, Wilda Vincent, brother Calvin Joy and daughters Brianna Joy, Avery Joy and Skylar Joy.
