Alton F. Frazier

August 20, 2026

Alton F. Frazier, 82, of Cisco, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2026. He was born on June 5, 1944, to Joe and Maxine Frazier, who preceded him in death.
Alton was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was married to his beloved wife, Darla, for 59 years. He loved his family deeply and took great pride in the life they built together.
Alton was a hard worker and a man of many talents. Over the years, he built several homes throughout the area, owned and managed rental properties, and operated two carpet stores. He also helped renovate and remodel condominiums in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where he enjoyed spending time snow skiing. Alton and Darla also lived for several years in Post, Texas, where he owned a large antique store downtown and was involved in the Post Trade Days. He was always busy working on a project, building something, or finding a new way to provide for and serve his family.
Alton graduated from Eula High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University until he answered the call to serve his country. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Military Police officer at Fort Riley, Kansas, with the Big Red One Riot Control Division. Among his military service, he had the honor of serving on President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s funeral detail.
His faith was an important part of his life. Alton faithfully served his church family at First Assembly of God in Abilene as a Deacon and Royal Ranger Leader. He loved serving others and being a part of his church family.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Darla; his children, Mitch and Lisa Ezell, Clyde, and Teresa Parks and fiancé Rodney Whitmore; his grandchildren, Lauren Trotter and husband Jake, Ethan Parks of Midland, and Makenah Parks of Baird; and his great-grandsons, Brooks Trotter and Lane Trotter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Maxine Frazier; his two sisters, Shirley Gibson and Barbara Gray; and his great-nephew, Reid Crowe.
When his grandson Ethan asked him how he would like to be remembered, Alton simply answered, “That I was honest and treated people fairly.”
Those words beautifully reflect the man Alton was. He lived a life of hard work, faith, service, honesty, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hendrick Hospice for the compassionate care, comfort, and support they provided to Alton and his family during his final days.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. A private family burial will take place at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Alton’s memory to Hendrick Hospice or The Church @ The Cross in Abilene.
