Roberto Valdez
May 06, 2026
Roberto Valdez, dad and grandpa, age 90 of Clyde, passed away peacefully from this earthly life into the arms of Jesus on May 2, 2026.
He was born in Fashing, Texas, on April 29. 1936, to Mariano and Francisca Valdez. He married Maria Caballero on June 12, 1957. They lived most of their lives in the Clyde area; where they raised 8 children.
Roberto was kind, gentle, and a humble man. Our dad/grandpa had a true servant’s heart and served rather than being served, and expected nothing in return. He loved all his family with all his heart, and that love was returned in equal measure. Most of all he loved the Lord with unwavering faith. Family time at Un Dia La Vez ranch and listening to accordion music was his favorite pastime.
Roberto is preceded in death by his wife Maria, his parents, eight siblings, and a son-in-law Buddy Robertson.
He is survived by his children Richard Valdez, Gilbert Valdez (Carmen), Norma Robertson, Ilsa Silva (Joe), Herman Valdez (Lynn), Leticia Guerrero (Micah), Henry Valdez (Sharon), and Jeremy Valdez (Nichole). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many special friends.
We will miss him dearly, but we trust he is at peace and will live on in our hearts.
A special thank you to his hospice nurses that showed their loving and compassionate nature.
