Terry Lee Burgess

Terry Lee Burgess, 52, of Abilene passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, in an Abilene hospice facility. No services were scheduled at the time as per Terry’s wishes. 
Terry was born June 3, 1973, in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico to James Clifford and Doris Jean (Pinkston) Burgess. He graduated from Baird High School. He worked as a self-employed carpenter most of his life. He married Gayle Baker in Clyde on July 10, 2010. Terry loved hunting, fishing and camping but his favorite thing was spending time with his grandkids. 
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Baker of Abilene; one son, Clifford Ray Burgess of Abilene; two brothers, Matt Berry and wife Kay and Thomas Burgess and wife Dina, all of Clyde; one sister, Irene Kelly and husband James of Baird; two stepdaughters, Regena Little and husband Johnny of Brownwood and Tiffany Hobbs of Crews; four grandchildren, Ricky Hobbs, Joshua Matthews, Christian Prater and Kolton Little and several nieces and nephews. 
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jerry Burgess and Carol Caddell.
